Strain Theory

The strain theory is based on the fact that crime is a result of lower-class frustration and anger. Strain is the lack of opportunity and desire for success which in some cases causes the formation of gangs. Gangs then lead to crime and delinquency which leads most to a criminal career. People with low or no income steal cars to relieve the stress of having no money. These criminals accept the goals they have but they aren’t able to achieve them so they steal vehicles or sell drugs. Their social goals are also lowered in importance for example, they would rather make money off of stealing car parts than graduating high school and getting a real job.
