Social Structure Theory

The social structure theory is proposed due to social disorganization. Social disorganization is the lack of social control and the breakdown of organization. The breakdown of social control causes an increase in gangs which makes more neighborhoods prone to crime. Older members of the gang then pass down their culture to younger members of society. The more gangs there are the more likely cars will be stolen for other crimes or gang use.
